The BJP’s decision to send a fact-finding committee to Kolkata to probe the alleged gang rape of a law student has ignited a political controversy. TMC leader Kunal Ghosh has launched a scathing attack, accusing the BJP of ‘political tourism.’ Ghosh criticized the BJP’s selective outrage, pointing out their silence on similar incidents in other states. He stated that the police had already taken action, and the victim’s family had faith in the process. Ghosh suggested that the BJP’s actions, including approaching the High Court, were aimed at gaining media attention. The BJP fact-finding team includes former Union Minister Satpal Singh, Meenakshi Lekhi, Biplab Kumar Deb and Manan Kumar Mishra.
