Shillong, Meghalaya: The East Khasi Hills Police have brought to light key details regarding the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi. Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem has revealed that Raj Kushwaha was the mastermind. Sonam was involved in the plan, which included three individuals, one of whom was Raj’s cousin. The investigation confirmed that the crime was motivated by friendship, not financial gain. The plan was formulated in February, focusing on Sonam’s role. The initial plan to eliminate Raja in Guwahati changed to Shillong. The police have arrested the accused, and further investigation continues. All five accused, including Sonam Raghuvanshi, have been remanded to police custody for eight days. Raja Raghuvanshi’s body was discovered in a gorge near Sohra, close to Cherrapunji, Meghalaya, on June 2. Those charged with the murder are Sonam Raghuvanshi, Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan, Raj Singh Kushwaha, and Anand. The couple, Raja and Sonam, both from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, were on their honeymoon in Meghalaya at the time of the incident. Sonam was later located near a dhaba on the Varanasi-Ghazipur main road.
