Prime Minister Narendra Modi is embarking on a two-day visit to Bihar, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh, commencing June 20. The visit is packed with engagements focused on infrastructure development, socio-economic progress, and the promotion of wellness through the International Yoga Day.
In Bihar, the Prime Minister will inaugurate various development projects in Siwan. These include the new Vaishali-Deoria railway line, a new Vande Bharat Express route, and a locomotive for export. The Namami Gange project will see the inauguration of six Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs), alongside other projects focused on water supply and sanitation. Moreover, a 500 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) will be established to strengthen the region’s power infrastructure.
In Odisha, the Prime Minister will participate in a state-level function in Bhubaneswar, marking the completion of one year of the State Government. He will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for numerous development projects worth over Rs 18,600 crore. These projects span essential sectors such as drinking water, infrastructure, and new railway lines, including extending rail connectivity to the Boudh district. In addition, 100 electric buses will be launched under the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) system. The Odisha Vision Document will be released, along with the ‘Baraputra Aitihya Gram Yojana’ initiative. Women achievers from across the state will also be felicitated.
On June 21st, the Prime Minister will participate in the International Yoga Day celebrations in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. He will lead the national celebration with a mass yoga demonstration at the beachfront, reflecting this year’s theme of ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health.’
