As India celebrates Deepavali, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a heartfelt message with the nation, reflecting on the festival’s core values of righteousness and renewed hope. He underscored the unique significance of this year’s Deepavali, being the second celebrated post the Ram Temple’s consecration in Ayodhya. The Prime Minister invoked the spirit of Lord Ram, drawing a clear parallel to recent national security operations. He specifically lauded ‘Operation Sindoor,’ describing it as an act that not only upheld righteousness but also served justice. ‘Bharat not only upheld righteousness but also avenged injustice,’ Modi remarked in his letter.
A significant point of pride highlighted by the Prime Minister was the eradication of Naxalism and Maoist terrorism from numerous districts. This Deepavali, he noted, will see lights illuminating areas that were once under the shadow of violence, celebrating the return of citizens to constitutional governance and development. He hailed this transition as a ‘major achievement.’ The Prime Minister also highlighted progressive economic measures, such as the implementation of reduced GST rates, which are proving beneficial for citizens. With India on a robust economic growth path towards becoming the world’s third-largest economy, Modi urged citizens to actively participate in nation-building. His message concluded with a fervent appeal to embrace ‘Swadeshi’ products and foster a spirit of unity and self-reliance for a ‘Viksit Bharat’.
