NEW DELHI: In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Indian Railways has skilled 51,000 frontline railway workers as ‘Karma Yogis’ to help passengers throughout their journey.

The karma-yogis will take the passengers to GRP or the RPF in case of any offence is dedicated towards them in the course of the journey. They will even make medical preparations for the passengers who’re injured or fall ailing in the course of the journey. The Karma-yogis will even inform the passengers in regards to the reserving of present tickets on the railway stations and protected fee strategies and can share the right details about the arrival and departure of trains with those that wrestle with digital shows or loudspeaker bulletins at stations.

Sharing this on Thursday, ADG PR (Railway) Rajiv Jain mentioned that 51,000 frontline railway workers have to date been skilled beneath the Mission Karmyogi to be deputed at factors at railway stations to help the passengers. “The Indian Railways is working on a plan to prepare a pool of 1 lakh of well-trained Karma Yogis to assist passengers with due hospitality and humility”, Jain mentioned.
