The Uttar Pradesh Assembly on Wednesday witnessed noisy scenes through the query hour over remarks made by a minister towards Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and state celebration president Ajay Kumar Lallu.

In reply to a query concerning irrigation services in Bundelkhand, Jal Shakti Minister Mahendra Singh referred to as Lallu a ‘Tathakathit adyaksh’ (so-called president) when the latter mentioned that the Bundelkhand space was witnessing most variety of suicides by farmers.

“Bundelkhand witnessed maximum number of suicides. Even yesterday, two farmers committed suicide,” Lallu mentioned whereas asking about irrigation services within the area.

In his reply, the minister referred to as Lallu as “Tathakathit adyaksh” of the Congress and even named Rahul Gandhi.He mentioned they have been the “ones who tell maximum number of lies.”

“Maximum number of suicides were committed during the Congress regime, and no farmer committed suicide in the Yogi Adityanath regime,” the minister added.

Congress Legislative Party chief Aradhana Shukla Mona mentioned it was not applicable to make use of such language within the House. Later, Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Suresh Kumar Khanna, mentioned such feedback shouldn’t be made.

“The Congress member (Lallu) made certain allegations, the minister also reacted. If anything was unwarranted it can be taken out of the proceedings,” Khanna mentioned.

Leader of Opposition, Ram Govind Chowdhury, mentioned the langauge used within the House must be such that it mustn’t damage anybody.

“The minister said nothing was done in past regimes in Bundelkhand. I want to tell him that in previous Akhilesh Yadav regime, maximum works were done in the Bundelkhand region,” he mentioned. The minister additionally gave particulars of schemes underway within the Bundelkhand area.
