The Uttar Pradesh Industrial Corridor Development Authority (UPEIDA) has issued a ban on land transactions along the proposed Noida-Ganga Expressway route. This decision aims to accelerate infrastructure development centered around the Noida International Airport. The 74.3 km expressway is designed to link the airport to both the Ganga Expressway and the Yamuna Expressway, effectively connecting three critical transportation projects in the state. UPEIDA officials have warned that any non-compliance with this order will face stringent measures.
The Ganga Expressway, a project with a budget of Rs 4,000 crore, is designed to connect Meerut and Prayagraj. The new expressway link will begin near Syana in Bulandshahr and conclude near Film City in Sector-21, adjacent to the Yamuna Expressway. This route is considered vital for bolstering passenger and logistics connectivity in western Uttar Pradesh.
Following UPEIDA’s directive, administrative officials in Noida and Bulandshahr are actively conducting surveys to identify and acquire or control the designated land parcels.
The planned expressway will have a width of 120 meters, and its route has been modified to bypass existing built-up areas of Yamuna City. It will now pass through 56 villages, comprising 8 villages in Noida and 48 in Bulandshahr district. Key villages that will be affected include Mahndipur Bangar, Bhaiyapur Brahmanan, Rabupura, and Myana (Noida), and Amanullahpur, Kapna, and Bhagwanpur (Khurja tehsil). Several panchayats of Syana and Shikarpur tehsils will also be impacted.
YEIDA officials have emphasized the project’s potential to stimulate regional industrial and economic development. The expressway is expected to facilitate efficient cargo transport from Noida Airport to industrial zones in Yamuna City (such as Sectors 28, 29, 32, and 33). This initiative will improve connectivity and passenger travel between Delhi, Agra, Mumbai, and Prayagraj, as well as strengthen the region’s logistics network.
Furthermore, plans are in development to connect this expressway to NH-34. This significant infrastructure investment is similar to other recent road projects, such as the 66-km section on the Delhi-Jaipur route, which resulted in a one-hour reduction in travel time and impacted 56 villages.
