A new Amrit Bharat Express train is coming, promising to make travel between Odisha and Gujarat easier. The train service is expected to improve overall connectivity between the two states. The train will begin at Udhna railway station in Surat and terminate at Brahmapur railway station in Odisha. The service will feature modern amenities to ensure a pleasant travel experience, especially for those with limited financial resources. The train is scheduled to stop at several major stations en route, including Rayagada, Vizianagaram, Nandurbar, Wardha, Nagpur, Gondia, Jalgaon, Bhusaval, Palasa, Badnera, Raipur, and Titlagarh. While the official launch date hasn’t been released, the railway has hinted that Prime Minister Modi might launch it during his visit to Odisha on September 27.
The Amrit Bharat Express is designed to operate at speeds of approximately 160 to 180 km/h. It will have a total of 23 coaches. These will include 11 general class coaches, 8 sleeper class coaches, 1 pantry car, and 2 second-class coaches. A coach will be specifically designated for passengers with disabilities. The introduction of this train is expected to be particularly beneficial for migrant workers returning to their homes near Gujarat. Passengers will benefit from fast and direct service even during periods of high demand.
