The New Delhi Municipal Council’s (NDMC) Vice Chairman, Kuljeet Singh Chahal, has attributed the council’s consistent achievements in national cleanliness rankings to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking at a civic gathering, Chahal noted that the NDMC has consistently earned cleanliness awards each year under PM Modi’s guidance, highlighting the council’s commitment to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and urban development projects.
The NDMC has consistently performed well, often leading in the Swachh Survekshan rankings, a nationwide cleanliness survey organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Chahal emphasized that the Prime Minister’s vision and governance model have been instrumental in fostering a culture of accountability, hygiene, and sustainability across all levels of urban management.
Chahal further stated that these accomplishments reflect the Prime Minister’s emphasis on transparent, technology-driven governance and citizen involvement. He mentioned the NDMC’s innovations in waste segregation, door-to-door garbage collection, and sanitation management, which have set high standards in urban hygiene. The NDMC has focused on smart infrastructure, green spaces, and efficient waste-to-energy conversion systems. Chahal added that the positive impact is evident not only in the awards received but also in the enhanced quality of life experienced by residents and visitors in Lutyens’ Delhi.
Chahal reaffirmed the NDMC’s commitment to maintaining these standards and striving for continuous improvement. He concluded that with the leadership of PM Modi and the dedication of the NDMC, New Delhi is steadily progressing toward becoming one of the cleanest and most livable cities globally.
