The disappearance of an Indore couple, Raja and Sonam Raghuvanshi, has prompted Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav to seek a CBI investigation. Raja’s body was recovered in Meghalaya, but Sonam remains missing. CM Yadav has requested Union Home Minister Amit Shah to intervene. He also mentioned his discussions with the Meghalaya Chief Minister and the ongoing efforts of Madhya Pradesh police officials in collaboration with their Meghalaya counterparts. The family, deeply concerned, had earlier written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asking for a CBI probe, after Raja’s body was found in a gorge near Cherrapunji. The couple’s last communication was on May 23, during their honeymoon. Their phones were turned off later that day. Vipul Raghuvanshi, Raja’s brother, has stated the family’s desire for the CBI to take over, hoping it will provide justice and help in the search for Sonam. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma expressed his sympathies and indicated that all actions will be taken to solve the case.
