The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert predicting heavy rainfall across various states until July 15th, raising concerns about potential travel disruptions. In contrast to the pleasant weather in Bengaluru on July 10th, several regions, including Tamil Nadu, parts of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Arunachal Pradesh, experienced thunderstorms and strong winds. The IMD forecasts light to moderate rain in South Peninsular India, encompassing Kerala, Mahe, and Lakshadweep, over the next week. The weather bulletin indicates continuous rainfall in Northeast and Northwest India throughout the weekend. A warning has been issued for intense rainfall in East and Central India, with potential traffic delays expected in areas such as Madhya Pradesh (July 10-15), Vidarbha (July 10-11), Chhattisgarh (July 10-11, 14 & 15), Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim (July 10 & 13), Gangetic West Bengal (July 10 & 14), Jharkhand (July 10), and Odisha (July 9 and July 13-15). Heavy rain caused waterlogging and traffic jams in Delhi-NCR on Wednesday evening. The IMD anticipates the continuation of light to moderate rain until the weekend. Further, the weather department has issued alerts for heavy downpours in East Rajasthan and Uttarakhand (July 10-15), Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh (July 10), Himachal Pradesh (July 10 and July 13-15), West Uttar Pradesh (July 10-13), East Uttar Pradesh (July 10-11), and West Rajasthan (July 12-15). The public is advised to exercise caution and stay informed about traffic conditions before starting their journeys.
