Modernising judicial infrastructure: 27 extra courtrooms in SC, 51 extra choose chambers

NEW DELHI: Stressing the necessity to modernise the judicial infrastructure to make the Supreme Court extra accessible and inclusive, Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud on Tuesday introduced the growth of its infrastructure in two phases.

Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the SC for starting to add judgments in regional languages, the CJI mentioned the intention is to translate all 35,000 judgments of the highest courtroom since its inception in all Indian languages. Till now, 9,423 judgments have been translated — 8,977 in Hindi and the remainder in numerous different regional languages, he mentioned.
