The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, is pushing for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the disappearance of Raja Raghuvanshi and his wife Sonam from Indore. The couple was last seen in Shillong, Meghalaya. Raja was found dead, while Sonam is still missing.
CM Yadav has approached Union Home Minister Amit Shah, requesting the CBI inquiry. He has also publicly expressed support for the family. Senior police officers from Madhya Pradesh are working with Meghalaya officials. The CM is committed to ensuring Sonam’s safe return.
The family had earlier appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a CBI investigation.
The couple’s last contact with their family was on May 23. Raja’s remains were recovered from a gorge near Cherrapunji on June 2. Sonam remains missing.
