Mamata safety officer eliminated after Election Commission order

The West Bengal authorities Friday eliminated Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s safety officer Ashok Chakraborty with rapid impact following the Election Commission’s instructions.
Chakraborty had been in command of the chief minister’s safety since she first got here to energy. He was deputed for the job after being shifted from the Railway Protection Force. After his retirement, Chakraborty was appointed an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) within the Directorate of Security, a rank equal to a Superintendent of Police (SP).

On March 10, Banerjee was injured whereas campaigning in Nandigram. While the CM alleged a conspiracy by BJP to assault her, an EC staff blamed the incident on a critical lapse in safety association.
