An active encounter is taking place between security forces and terrorists in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir. Following specific intelligence, a joint search operation was launched in Kanzal Mandu, Kishtwar, leading to contact with the terrorists, as reported by the 16 Corps, Indian Army on X. The operation is still ongoing. In related news, security has been strengthened along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) as the annual Shri Amarnath Yatra has begun. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch of pilgrims. Security arrangements include facial recognition systems and increased surveillance to ensure a safe pilgrimage.
