Kedarnath to open for devotees after six months on April 25

DEHRADUN: The portals of Kedarnath located within the higher Garhwal Himalayas shall be opened on April 25 after almost six months of their closure through the winter season.

The gates of the Himalayan temple shall be thrown open to devotees at 6.20 am on April 25, Badrinath-Kedarnath Mandir Samiti sources mentioned.

The timing and date for the reopening of the temple gates have been introduced at a ceremony on the Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath on Saturday on the auspicious event of Mahashivaratri.

The ceremony was attended by BKTC officers, tirth purohits and officers of the district administration.

The idol of lord Shiva is introduced down yearly after the closure of Kedarnath to the Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath the place it’s worshipped throughout winter.

Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri are already scheduled to open on April 27 and April 22.

The Char Dham temples, together with Kedarnath, are closed yearly in October-November as a consequence of excessive chilly circumstances.
