Kashmiri Pandit financial institution guard shot lifeless by terrorists cremated in J&K’s Pulwama

SRINAGAR: The final rites of Kashmiri Pandit financial institution guard Sanjay Sharma, who was shot lifeless by terrorists on Sunday, had been carried out at his native village in Pulwama district, officers stated.

The mortal stays of 40-year-old Sharma had been consigned to flames in line with Hindu rituals amidst the presence of relations and neighbours, together with native Muslims, on Monday, they stated.

The Muslim neighbours helped the minority group members in performing the final rites of the deceased, they stated.

Sharma was shot lifeless by terrorists on Sunday barely 100 metres away from his residence in Achan in Pulwama as he was on his option to a neighborhood marketplace for a stroll.

“We condemn the murder. We stand by the bereaved family. As soon as the news of the incident broke yesterday, people were ready to provide all help — blood, money, anything to save him. Unfortunately, he succumbed on the way (to hospital),” Bashir Ahmad Malik, a neighborhood resident, stated.

He stated the killing was a setback for the Hindu-Muslim concord within the village which has existed since centuries.

“This is not the murder of one individual, this is murder of humanity. The people of this area are as much bereaved as the family of the victim,” Malik stated.

Sharma turned the primary sufferer of goal killings by the ultras this 12 months.

Last 12 months, the terrorists shot lifeless 18 folks, together with three Kashmiri Pandits, a financial institution supervisor from Rajasthan and eight non-local staff in 29 assaults within the valley.
