The Kashmir Valley’s persistent heatwave has finally ended, replaced by consistent rainfall that has provided respite from the heat. However, this shift has also led to cloudbursts and flash floods in several areas. The Mantipora Chattergul area of Anantnag district was severely impacted by a flash flood, with numerous homes affected. Budgam district has also suffered extensive damage due to the heavy rainfall, resulting in widespread waterlogging. Residents have expressed dissatisfaction with the perceived lack of administrative assistance. The weather forecast indicates a continuation of unstable conditions, potentially leading to more flash floods and cloudbursts. The public, especially those residing in vulnerable locations, are advised to exercise caution. Amarnath pilgrims are urged to stay updated on weather alerts.
