G. Parameshwara, the Home Minister of Karnataka, stated on Tuesday that he was uninformed about the reasons for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s visit to Delhi. He speculated that the leaders may be in Delhi to brief the party leadership about the stampede tragedy. Parameshwara noted he was not called to join them but would go if needed. Sources suggest discussions might include the stampede and the caste census. It’s expected that the two leaders will meet with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi at Indira Bhawan.
