On July 26, India celebrates Kargil Vijay Diwas to honor the Indian Armed Forces’ victory in the 1999 Kargil War. The day recognizes the courage and sacrifice of the Indian soldiers. The country remembers the 545 soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice. The theme for this year’s commemoration is ‘Honoring 26 Years of Valour and Victory.’
