The Jammu and Kashmir Police are actively combating terrorism, conducting searches in several locations, including Srinagar. The Counter-Intelligence Wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Police is carrying out these raids. According to officials, the Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) is conducting searches in eight different locations within the valley as part of an ongoing investigation. The locations include Srinagar, Baramulla, Anantnag, Kupwara, Handwara, Pulwama, and Shopian districts. These raids are being conducted based on warrants obtained from a competent court related to FIR number 3/2023.
The Counter-Intelligence Wing has a history of conducting such raids, with similar operations being carried out in July. The army and police in Jammu and Kashmir have been working to dismantle terrorist groups. The police have stopped multiple infiltration attempts and have carried out several search operations in the valley.
The police are investigating the individuals’ contacts and basing the raids on their activities. Previous raids had found connections to terrorists like Abdullah Ghazi of Lashkar-e-Taiba/Jaish-e-Mohammed.
In a separate action, the Udhampur police raided a spa center. Several men and women were detained during this operation. The raid occurred at a spa center in the Badia area of Ward Number 5 in Udhampur. The operation lasted around four hours and involved a considerable number of police officers and senior officials. The police have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter. Local residents have supported the police’s actions.
