Following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, in which 25 tourists and a local ponywala were killed, the J&K police have attached property belonging to the father of Sajjad Ahmad Sheikh, also known as Sajjad Gul. The property, valued at Rs 2 crore, includes a residential house in Srinagar. Sajjad Gul, the founder of The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Toiba, is considered the mastermind behind the attack. Investigations revealed that Gul was based in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, and planned several terror attacks between 2020 and 2024. The NIA has labeled him a terrorist and put a bounty of Rs 10 lakh on his head. Gul’s background includes education in Srinagar, an MBA from Bangalore, and a lab technician course in Kerala. After returning to Kashmir, he operated a diagnostic lab while assisting the terrorist group.
