The weather department has issued a yellow alert, warning of heavy rainfall in numerous districts of Jharkhand today. The capital city, Ranchi, is forecast to receive light rainfall, with no alert issued. The districts affected by the yellow alert include Garhwa, Chatra, Palamu, Latehar, Deoghar, Giridih, Dhanbad, Jamtara, Dumka, Godda, Sahibganj, and Pakur, where heavy rainfall is expected. The forecast also includes the possibility of strong winds and lightning in some areas. The Meteorological Department cites a cyclone in Bengal and Bihar as the cause, predicting heavy rainfall in these regions over the next 24 hours. Rain is also expected in Ranchi on August 8th. Rainfall measurements from the past 24 hours are: Godda (Pathargama) – 170.2 mm, Pakur – 81.4 mm, Dumka – 35.3 mm, Latehar – 54 mm, Medininagar – 10 mm, Bokaro – 3 mm, and Ranchi – 1 mm.
