Koderma, India – In a significant event marking World Mental Health Day, a legal awareness camp was hosted at the Jeevodaya Institute. This collaborative effort brought together the District Legal Services Authority, Koderma, along with Hand in Hand India, Children of India Foundation, Lions Club Koderma, and Marwari Yuva Manch. The proceedings were held under the esteemed leadership of Bal Krishna Tiwari, Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority.
Gautam Kumar, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Koderma, addressed the attendees, underscoring the importance of compassion and empathy when interacting with individuals facing mental health concerns. He stressed that fostering a sense of belonging and ease for them is paramount. Kumar reiterated the authority’s unwavering dedication to supporting all individuals facing adversity, ensuring that no one is deprived of justice due to financial or resource limitations.
Rahul Jain, President of Marwari Yuva Manch, advocated for the active inclusion of individuals with mental disabilities into the broader community, asserting this as the true meaning of the day. He praised the District Legal Services Authority for its instrumental role. Sujeet Kumar Ambastha of Lions Club Koderma proposed a discussion on the root causes of mental health conditions and urged the public to moderate their use of mobile phones and televisions. Archana Jwala, Nodal Officer of Sakhi One Stop Center, lauded Jeevodaya’s exemplary role in providing care and setting a precedent for societal engagement with mental health issues. Rupesh Kumar from Hand in Hand India highlighted that consistent expressions of love and care toward the residents of Jeevodaya are crucial for their emotional upliftment and happiness.
Dr. Ashish Raj, a medical officer, offered high praise for the organizing committee. Sister Salomi from Holy Family Nursing School shared insights into Jeevodaya’s work and expressed her gratitude for the support from all participating entities. Sister Ronita from Jeevodaya concluded the event by expressing thanks to all guests. The program commenced with a welcome song performed by students of Holy Family Nursing School, followed by the presentation of bouquets to guests by individuals from Jeevodaya. Ranjit Kumar Singh, a court employee, expertly guided the program. The event was graced by the presence of many esteemed individuals, including senior advocate Jay Prakash Narayan, and representatives from supporting organizations.
