Authorities in Saraikela Kharsawa, Jharkhand, are investigating the death of a man allegedly killed by his wife, who then fled with their three children and an unidentified accomplice. The incident took place in the Satbahni Dheerajganj area of Adityapur. The wife is accused of slitting her husband’s throat, setting him on fire, and then escaping. Police are actively investigating.
The deceased was identified as Rajesh Kumar Chaudhary, originally from Giridih and employed as a lab technician at DD Steel in Kolabira. He had recently begun living with his wife on Monday.
Initially, Rajesh had been residing with friends in the Samridhi Apartment. His wife and children arrived in Adityapur on Monday, pressuring him to live with them. He subsequently rented a house from Gorango Mukhi. Neighbors reported that the couple often argued. On Thursday, an unknown individual visited their home.
A local shopkeeper recounted Rajesh’s purchase of paneer and the arrival of his brother-in-law. It is believed that the wife, with the assistance of the unknown person, murdered Rajesh that night. They then fled with the children. The police suspect the wife’s involvement, as the door was locked from the outside after the incident. Neighbors notified the police on Saturday due to a foul smell emanating from the premises.
Rajesh’s brother, residing in Raipur, revealed that Rajesh’s wife had visited Giridih and stated she wouldn’t stay with Rajesh anymore, citing his conduct, and brought the children from their in-laws to Adityapur.
