Jharkhand High Court: Ranchi, Rana Pratap-Jharkhand High Court heard the emergency treatment in the burn ward of Deoghar AIIMS as part of the public interest litigation filed with automatic cognizance. A division bench of Chief Justice MS Ramchandra Rao and Justice Rajesh Shankar heard the side of the advocate of AIIMS during the hearing of the case. After hearing the AIIMS side, the bench directed to file a status report regarding emergency unit for the treatment of victims in the burn unit and surgical unit for plastic surgery. The bench set the date of July 14 for the next hearing of the case.
At present, the emergency ward could not be started
Advocate Prashant Pallava, on behalf of Deoghar AIIMS, told the bench that the emergency ward has not been started at the moment. It will start from July. He informed that there is no provision of burn unit in the burn ward. However, under CSR Fund, NTPC has said to give funds for burn unit. The process is going on in this regard.

The minor was burnt by spraying petrol
On 23 August 2022, a minor girl sleeping in her house in Dumka district was burnt by spraying petrol. The seriously injured student was admitted to the local hospital for treatment. When the situation became serious, he was referred to Ranchi Rims, where he died during treatment. Taking this matter seriously, the Jharkhand High Court had converted it into a PIL.
