In a shocking incident, the village head of a village in Khunti district, Jharkhand, was murdered in his home. A group of armed individuals broke into the victim’s home late Saturday night. They first attacked the village head with sticks and then shot him. The village head’s nephew was also injured in the attack while trying to help.
The assault took place during heavy rain. More than six armed criminals entered the home of Gram Pradhan Balram Manda. They immediately attacked him with sticks and weapons, subsequently shooting him. The attackers remained in the house for roughly thirty minutes, causing damage.
After the murder, the criminals fled. The news of the attack quickly spread across the area. Police from the Maranghada police station took possession of the body and launched an investigation to catch the perpetrators. Police are looking into all possible motives, including robbery and personal disputes.
Balram Manda, the deceased, was associated with the BJP in Khunti district and formerly served as a BJP Mandal Minister. Following his death, former Jharkhand Minister Nilkanth Singh Munda, along with other party members, visited the family, expressing their condolences and demanding immediate arrests.
