Police in Lohardaga have arrested two individuals associated with the PLFI, a banned Naxal organization. The arrests were made by the Kuru police station. The individuals were apprehended while collecting extortion money. Lohardaga SP Sadiq Anwar Rizvi explained that the PLFI had been demanding a levy from a contractor who was working on a culvert construction project in the Lawagai area. The contractor faced threats of violence and arson if they did not comply. There was an attempt to set fire to construction vehicles and posters were put up in the name of the PLFI. Lohardaga police set up a trap and arrested the naxalites with 30,000 rupees. The arrested naxalites are Nikhil Munda alias Pintoo and Sunil Sanga, residents of Ghaghra village in Khunti district. Lohardaga police are searching for the mastermind and other members of the PLFI.
