A violent confrontation in Khunti has resulted in the arrest of two alleged assailants involved in a shooting incident targeting businessman Shafiq Mian. The victim was critically injured on October 13th in the Chhata village area, under Karra police station limits.
Police have identified the apprehended suspects as Shahid Mian, a local resident of Karra, and Modasir Ahmad alias Mo Raja Khan, who lives in Khunti. The arrests were made following intensive investigations by a dedicated police unit.
During questioning, the accused admitted to the crime, attributing the motive to a business dispute. Specifically, a long-standing conflict existed between Shafiq Mian and Shahid Mian regarding the operation of a cosmetics stall in the Rola Guttu village market. This dispute culminated in the armed assault.
The investigation team, under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Manish Tappo, not only secured the arrests but also recovered key evidence, including the vehicle used in the attack and two live cartridges. The swift resolution of this case highlights the police’s commitment to tackling crime and ensuring the safety of the community.
