A serious incident of violence has occurred in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, where traffic police personnel were attacked by auto-rickshaw drivers. The attack took place in the Kathel Mod area, under the jurisdiction of the Nagri police station. A video of the incident has gone viral, showing the brutal assault.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the incident involved three to four auto drivers who reportedly used stones to attack the traffic police officers. One officer, identified as Rohit Ganjhu, suffered a serious head injury and was rushed to RIMS hospital in Ranchi for urgent medical treatment.
The auto drivers involved in the assault managed to escape and are currently being sought by the police. The Ranchi Traffic SP has assured that the perpetrators will face strict consequences. The Nagri police station in-charge is overseeing the investigation into the matter.
The video footage of the incident reveals the auto drivers attacking the traffic police officers. The officers are seen attempting to defend themselves with batons, but were later overpowered. In the video, one officer is seen being struck by a stone and falling to the ground.
