Stormy Winds and Flood Threats Across North India, Including Delhi NCR

A fresh alert released by the weather department on 16 August highlights storm‑force breezes of up to 70 km/h in several districts of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. Cities such as Meerut, Lucknow, Amritsar and Jaipur are slated to receive heavy rain alongside gusty conditions.

Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad and Gurugram have been asked to exercise heightened caution. Expect dense cloud cover throughout the day and occasional downpours that could disrupt traffic visibility.

Temperatures in Lucknow are forecasted at a maximum of 31 °C and a night low of 27 °C. In Punjab, wind speeds may peak at 70 km/h, while Haryana’s plains could see crop‑damage‑prone storms.
