The Cambridge Institute of Technology in Ranchi ignited the spirit of competition on Thursday with the commencement of its Annual Sports Meet, ‘Varchasva 2025.’ Deputy Registrar Manish Nath inaugurated the event, formally opening the festivities after lighting the lamp and cutting the ceremonial ribbon, following a traditional puja and havan.
This vibrant sports festival is slated to run for five days, with its grand finale scheduled for December 23rd. Students are set to showcase their athletic prowess across a comprehensive list of sports, including cricket, football, badminton, basketball, kabaddi, volleyball, kho-kho, carrom, and various athletic disciplines. The event boasts a participation of 1500 students from both the Cambridge Institute of Technology and the Cambridge Institute of Polytechnic.
Principal Dr. L. Ranganathan guided the student body in taking an oath focused on fair competition and mutual respect. Vice-Principal Prof. Rasika Navneet Singh’s address encouraged participants to draw inspiration from both their successes and failures, advocating for a resilient mindset and the preservation of friendly relations among peers.
The opening ceremony was further enlivened by a torch parade led by students and a spectacular fireworks display. Notable attendees at the event included Dr. Pallavi Singh, Sunita Nath, Dr. D.K. Singh, Dr. N.K. Yadav, Sangeeta Singh, Prof. Deepak Kumar Verma, Prof. Ankit Kumar Singh, Prof. Prashank Mani, Anwar Alam, and the heads of various departments along with faculty members.
