In a significant operation, security forces in Jharkhand successfully foiled a plot by CPI (Maoist) insurgents, recovering 18 IED bombs. The search operation took place in the forests near the border of West Singhbhum and Khunti districts, near Kochang. Each of the recovered IEDs weighed approximately three kilograms and were safely detonated by a bomb disposal squad.
The search operation was conducted based on specific intelligence received by the West Singhbhum Superintendent of Police on July 8th, indicating the presence of explosives planted by the banned CPI (Maoist) to target security forces. The operation involved a joint team of the Chaibasa Police, Khunti Police, Jharkhand Jaguar, and CRPF. The authorities are actively tracking top Maoist leaders operating in the Saranda/Kolhan area, including Misir Besra, Anmol, and others, who are believed to be planning disruptive activities.
