The much-awaited Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath is scheduled to take place in Ranchi on June 27. Lord Jagannath, along with his siblings, will journey on a chariot to Mausi Badi. The Jagannathpur Temple Committee and the district administration are working in unison to ensure smooth preparations for the event. The fair associated with the Rath Yatra is also coming together, with swings and shops being erected to provide entertainment and shopping opportunities for the nine-day duration. The Rath Yatra traditionally commences on the Dwitiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Ashadha and continues until Ekadashi Tithi. Thousands of devotees participate in pulling the chariot of Lord Jagannath during this ten-day celebration. Devotees visit the fair, participate in the festivities, and shop for various items. The Jagannath fair will conclude on July 6th, coinciding with Devshayani Ekadashi, marking the Ghurti Rath Yatra.
