A serious incident of assault has occurred at a police station in Ranchi, Jharkhand, involving an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and a station clerk (Munshi). The ASI, Sudin Ravidas, was reportedly assaulted by Munshi Uday Shankar Yadav at the Dhurva police station. The situation unfolded after a disagreement regarding the release of six suspects who were initially apprehended on theft and snatching charges. The ASI complained to the SSP-cum-DIG, Chandan Kumar Sinha, accusing the Munshi of violent behavior. The events leading up to the incident were related to the annual Rath Mela in the Dhurva area, where 12 individuals were initially taken into custody. Upon returning to duty, the ASI discovered that half of the detainees had been released, prompting the conflict which escalated to physical violence.
