The city of Ranchi is in mourning following a fatal road accident on Kanke Road. A mother and her daughter, who were traveling on a scooter, were struck and killed by a speeding truck. The tragic incident occurred early Friday morning. The impact resulted in the instant deaths of both the mother and her daughter. Locals quickly arrived at the scene and, expressing their grief and anger, blocked the road using the victims’ bodies and bamboo barricades. Police forces, including those from the Sakanake police station, were deployed to control the situation and address the protesting crowd. The mother worked as a nurse and was on her way to school with her daughter when the accident happened near the Joda bridge on Kanke Road. The truck was loaded with cement. The police are now working to regain control of the situation and resume normal traffic flow on Kanke Road. They are also in discussion with the agitated locals. The police have assured that the truck driver will face severe consequences. This follows a similar incident on Harmu Bypass Road where a speeding vehicle resulted in the deaths of three family members near the Jharkhand BJP office.
