A fifth-grade student was kidnapped in Ranchi, Jharkhand, on July 30. The police swiftly recovered the girl and arrested the perpetrators. The mastermind of the kidnapping was a gym trainer and painting teacher who was deeply in debt. He conspired with others to abduct the girl and demand a ransom of 10 lakh rupees. The girl was taken from an e-rickshaw while she was going to school. After the abduction, the police alerted the neighboring districts. The girl was recovered in two hours. The kidnappers left the girl in Ramgarh district, 50 kilometers from Ranchi. Within six hours, six suspects were arrested, and the police seized the car used in the kidnapping, a pistol, a country-made pistol, ammunition, and cash. The kidnappers had intended to take the girl to Bihar, but abandoned the plan due to the police response.
