Police Clash with Devendra Nath Mahto Outside Ranchi Hospital on Independence Day

Student activist Devendra Nath Mahto, leading a hunger strike over alleged exam malpractice in Jharkhand, faced police interference on the national holiday. While trying to exit Sadar Hospital, a security officer stopped him from reaching the Tiranga march. Video footage circulating online shows Mahto being restrained as members of the Jharkhand Loktantrik Kranti Morcha (JKLM) plead for his participation. Mahto insists he was not given any medical directive and threatened legal action against the officers who barred his movement.
