A devastating road accident in Palamu, Jharkhand, led to the deaths of three laborers and caused injuries to several others. The accident took place in the Chhatarpur police station area, specifically on the NH-98 four-lane road near Ramgarh. A pickup truck, carrying more than 30 laborers from the Ranka and Ramkanda police station areas of Garhwa district, overturned after its driver, allegedly intoxicated, lost control of the vehicle and hit a divider. The laborers were on their way to Karhagar village in Rohtas, Bihar. Following the accident, local people helped to take the injured to a nearby hospital, and subsequently, the seriously injured were sent to Medininagar MMCH for more comprehensive treatment. The medical efforts at MMCH were hindered due to a power outage, with medical staff forced to treat patients in the dark for around 40 minutes because the generator operator was unavailable. Police have taken charge of the situation and initiated an investigation.
