Dhanbad district has officially begun its paddy procurement process, setting the Minimum Support Price (MSP) at a beneficial ₹2450 per quintal for local farmers. The launch was marked by ceremonies attended by local MLAs. Mathura Prasad Mahto inaugurated the procurement in Tundi, Raj Sinha in Dhanbad, and Shatrughan Mahto in Baghmara, with other local dignitaries present for similar events in their respective areas.
District Supply Officer Pankaj Kumar highlighted the government’s commitment to farmers, confirming that payments would be processed within 48 hours. To facilitate the collection of paddy from across the district, 18 procurement centers have been established. These centers are located in key areas including Govindpur, Topchanchi, Baliapur, Dhanbad, Tundi, East Tundi, Baghmara, Nirsa, Eklebra, and Kalidaspur. Each block has specific PACS designated to handle the procurement efficiently. This initiative aims to ensure fair pricing and timely compensation for the hard work of Dhanbad’s farmers.
