Sarla Birla University’s commitment to student wellbeing was evident with the recent “Stress Management and Emotional Wellbeing” interactive counseling session organized by its Mental Health Club. The university auditorium served as the venue for this vital discussion aimed at equipping students with tools for mental resilience.
Ms. Tanushree Sengupta, a highly experienced senior counselor from Army Public School, Ranchi, was the lead expert for the session. With over 25 years dedicated to counseling and family therapy, she shared invaluable perspectives on mental health, self-discovery, and emotional regulation. Ms. Sengupta’s expertise guided students toward developing problem-solving skills, enhancing self-esteem, cultivating emotional security, deepening self-awareness, understanding their social environment, practicing effective self-management, and improving relationship dynamics.
The session was thoughtfully designed to be both educational and engaging, featuring motivational videos and interactive exercises that facilitated a deeper understanding of the subject matter. The event commenced with an opening address from Dr. Neelima Pathak, Dean of the Faculty of Yogic Sciences & Naturopathy and head of the Mental Health Club, who extended greetings for “World Students Day” and underscored the club’s dedication to nurturing students’ overall growth.
The program concluded with expressions of gratitude from Dr. Priyanka Pandey, the club’s coordinator, who thanked Ms. Sengupta for her inspiring presence and valuable guidance. Distinguished faculty members, including Dr. Nandini Sinha, Ms. Anjana Kumari Singh, and Ms. Neha Nupur, were in attendance. University leadership, such as Pro-Chancellor Bijoy Kumar Dalan, Director General Prof. Gopal Pathak, Vice-Chancellor Prof. C. Jagannathan, and Rajya Sabha Member Dr. Pradeep Kumar Verma, lauded the initiative for its positive impact on the student community.
