The Department of Surgery at RIMS Hospital in Ranchi will host National Surgeon Week from June 9th to 15th. The week is packed with activities designed to promote health awareness and celebrate the achievements of surgeons. Events include health awareness campaigns, blood donation drives, tree planting, a walkathon, doctor recognition, and educational programs. Dr. D.K. Sinha, Head of the Surgery Department, provided details of the programs during a press conference. The primary objective is to educate the public about health and highlight the surgeons’ contributions. The event will feature the participation of senior doctors from Ranchi and Jharkhand, alongside junior doctors. Highlights of the week are a walkathon and street plays on June 9th, a workshop in collaboration with the Radiology Department on June 10th, a blood donation camp on June 11th, an award ceremony for senior doctors on June 12th, tree planting and health check-ups for doctors on June 13th, a quiz competition for PG students on June 14th, and the National Surgeon Day and closing ceremony on June 15th.
