A shocking incident occurred in the Shikharipara police station area of Jharkhand’s Dumka district, where a man’s tongue was bitten off. The event followed what authorities describe as a minor dispute. The victim’s wife has filed a report with local police. The report names a woman and other individuals. Police have detained the accused woman, and an investigation is ongoing.
Jelenur Bibi, a resident of the area, filed a written complaint. The complaint states that her husband, Laltu Sheikh, had his tongue bitten off. The complaint names Kalavati Murmu, her husband, and others as the perpetrators. Police have taken Murmu into custody.
Laltu Sheikh’s wife reported that her husband went to Ganpura Chowk Tuesday evening but did not return. Family members searched for him. He was found late at night, covered in blood. Through gestures, he indicated that Kalavati Murmu and others were responsible for the attack.
Locals believe the victim has a history of alcohol use. It is thought the incident occurred at Murmu’s home, with an argument over money related to alcohol consumption escalating into violence. Police are reviewing all aspects of the case in their investigation.
