A teacher at a private school in the Bhandra area of Lohardaga district, Jharkhand, is under scrutiny following allegations of physically assaulting a young student. The incident, which occurred at St. Mary’s Public School, involved a UKG student, Prince Oraon, who reportedly suffered a broken finger and injuries to his leg. The assault is believed to have been prompted by the child’s complaint about the quality of food served in the school hostel.
The accused teacher is identified as Kranti Kiran Kido. Prince’s father, Sukra Oraon, filed a police complaint detailing the incident, stating that on August 20, his son was brutally beaten with a stick by the teacher after complaining about the hostel food. The incident led to the child fleeing the hostel to his home, where his family then sought medical attention.
The X-rays taken at Sadar Hospital in Lohardaga confirmed the broken finger and other injuries. The parents’ attempts to discuss the incident with the school authorities reportedly resulted in disrespectful treatment. The school principal has denied the accusations, claiming the claims are baseless. Following the incident, Jharkhand’s Chief Minister, Hemant Soren, has ordered the Lohardaga DC to investigate and take appropriate action. The police are also investigating the matter based on the filed FIR.
