A vibrant two-day Kali Puja festival unfolded at the Koderma Railway Station Kali Temple, drawing large crowds and fostering an atmosphere of deep spiritual engagement. The celebrations included elaborate evening prayers and culminated in a spectacular ‘Jagran’, a night dedicated to devotional music and artistic expression. Performers, both from the local community and beyond, showcased their talents, leaving the devotees profoundly inspired and spiritually uplifted.
The program commenced with Munna Bhadani’s melodious invocation to Lord Ganesha. Vinod Chaurasia then engaged the audience with popular devotional songs, prompting widespread participation and joyful responses. The ‘Jagran’ continued with a series of exceptional bhajan performances by Raja Chaurasia, Anuradha Singh, Kshama Sonkar, and Anand Singh. The skilled musical support, provided by Vishal Kapshima on the organ, Bablu Pandey on the dholak, and other musicians, significantly enhanced the event’s overall splendor.
Following the evening Aarti, a sacred offering was presented to Goddess Kali, after which a large-scale community feast, the ‘Bhandara’, was held, offering Prasad to thousands of attendees. The air vibrated with the joyous chants of devotees, creating an intensely devotional environment.
This annual festival is organized with immense faith and a commitment to nurturing spiritual values, social cohesion, and mutual respect. The sacred rituals of the Kali Puja were performed by the temple priest, Vijaykant Upadhyay, who also initiated the event with the lighting of the divine Kali Jyoti.
