A recent anti-Naxal operation in the Gumla district of Jharkhand resulted in a significant success for the state’s security forces. During a search operation in the Lava Daag forest, a confrontation ensued between security forces and Naxals of the Jharkhand Janmukti Parishad (JJMP). The ensuing gunfight led to the death of three Naxals, including JJMP’s sub-zonal commander, Dilip Lohra. Law enforcement teams recovered an AK-47, two INSAS rifles, and a large quantity of ammunition. The operation was initiated based on specific intelligence regarding the movement of the JJMP commander in the Ghaghra area. This incident is part of a broader effort to eliminate Naxal activities across Jharkhand, following another encounter in Bokaro district just days prior, where two Naxals were killed.
