Jharkhand’s political landscape is buzzing with accusations from BJP State President and Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi, who claims the state government is actively fabricating new criminal incidents to conceal existing offenses. Marandi characterized this as a deliberate strategy by the administration and its supporting systems. The Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) recent probe into Dhanbad’s coal syndicate has yielded significant, unsettling evidence. Particularly disturbing are reports indicating that certain senior police officials, allegedly profiting from the coal trade’s black money, have issued directives to ‘permanently neutralize’ some of their operatives involved with the ED. This alleged conspiracy aims to prevent the ED from extracting crucial information and exposing the truth. Marandi referenced historical instances in Jharkhand where alleged criminals were eliminated through staged encounters, effectively destroying evidence. He also alluded to a former DGP who was widely condemned, even by ruling party members, for alleged contract killings and extreme corruption. Marandi advised the ED to proceed with utmost caution, observing that in Jharkhand, silence and complicity are valued over truth. He concluded that the convergence of political power, administrative machinery, and organized crime leaves little room for legitimate justice.
