A resident of Kotam village in Jharkhand, identified as Ritesh Kumar Singh, caused a major disturbance by climbing a mobile tower and threatening suicide. The incident stemmed from a property dispute involving his father and brother. The man, known to be addicted to alcohol, ascended the 100-foot tower, prompting the arrival of the police and a protracted negotiation. The situation was further complicated by an earlier assault on his wife. After a tense standoff lasting over three hours, Ritesh was brought down from the tower with minor injuries, requiring medical attention. This event is comparable to a prior incident in Ranchi in 2023, where a similar family disagreement prompted a man to climb a high-voltage electrical tower.
