A multitude of people attended the memorial feast for Dishom Guru Shibu Soren, former Chief Minister of Jharkhand. Among the attendees were Yoga guru Baba Ramdev and Home Minister Amit Shah, who visited Nemra. They met with the family of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and offered floral tributes to a photograph of the deceased.
Shibu Soren passed away on August 4th in Delhi, and his last rites were performed by his son, Hemant Soren, in the ancestral village of Nemra, where all subsequent rituals are also being observed.
The Jharkhand Chief Minister’s office shared a social media post highlighting the presence of Baba Ramdev and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh at the memorial feast. The post mentioned that Baba Ramdev offered flowers to Dishom Guru Shibu Soren’s picture and expressed his condolences to Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his family. Furthermore, Baba Ramdev respectfully sought blessings from Hemant Soren’s mother, Rupi Soren.
To manage the large crowd, robust security measures were implemented. Over 2500 police officers were stationed, and more than 300 e-rickshaws provided transportation for guests.
Over two lakh people were accommodated at the feast, with a variety of twelve dishes available. The food options included vegetarian and non-vegetarian choices, with dishes ranging from simple staples to more elaborate preparations.
