A comprehensive review of ongoing rural development schemes was conducted in Hazaribagh under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Shashi Prakash Singh on Wednesday. The meeting, held at the District Collectorate, delved into the progress of critical programs such as MGNREGA, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ambedkar Awas Yojana, Abua Awas Yojana, Birsa Coop Samvardhan Yojana, Doba Nirman, Anganwadi schemes, Birsa Harit Gram Yojana, horticulture, PD generation, geo-tagging, Janman Yojana, Panchayati Raj, ABPS, and JSLPS. The scope also extended to new SHG formations, credit linkage facilitation, Mudra loans, livestock initiatives, producer groups, DDU-GKY, and PMFME.
Deputy Commissioner Singh urged officials to accelerate PD generation and directed all BDOs and BPOs to identify and onboard eligible poor families onto MGNREGA to enhance human resource generation. He placed significant emphasis on the timely and complete closure of all pending and older projects. The DC further instructed that close coordination be maintained with the Animal Husbandry Department for the sanctioning of livestock schemes and that field surveys be conducted to identify and gather data from beneficiaries in need. A specific directive was issued for the construction of toilets under MGNREGA for PVTG families.
The maintenance of nutrition gardens in schools and Anganwadi centers was prioritized. BPOs were assigned the task of ensuring the 100% execution of job card applications received through the ‘Government at Your Doorstep’ program and to identify and issue job cards to those still without them. The swift completion of outstanding works under the Poto Ho Khel Vikas Yojana was also mandated. The Deputy Commissioner instructed BDOs to perform regular inspections of Anganwadi centers in their respective areas, comparing physical data with online records. A detailed review of JSLPS programs included a request for reports on bank linkages and a directive to focus on insurance-related issues for SHGs.
Discussions also covered the expedited resolution of Aadhaar verification issues for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, increased focus on PD generation and vermicompost activities, efficient material distribution, achieving progress on legacy projects, and the effective implementation of Panchayati Raj services. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Development Commissioner, trainee IAS officers, Panchayati Raj officials, BDOs, BPOs, BPMs, and coordinators of various government schemes.
